BAKDES

BAKDES.
We went to CIbeureum Village on 3nd to 5th of January. We got there by angkot, and it was a pretty long trip. When we arrived, we had to stay on the village hall to attend the welcome greetings from Cibeureum Village, represented by the headman.
3rd January 2019. First day.
Our first day marked by our first met with our foster parents, and seeing our home for the next 3 days. we have to make a group of four, and my housemates are Amelia, Dilla, and Stefany.
Our foster family is very kind and welcoming, and we were treated very nice there. Our family is actually a merchant, which sells vegetables, but they wouldn’t let us help them in the market, neither in the field. Turns out their field was pretty far from there, and it wasn’t the time to harvest yet. They have about 3 goats in the cage behind their house, but we didn’t had the time to play with them. Propably, they never have been out of the cage. Poor goatie:’).

Here is a picture of us with our foster parents. We took it on our last day, exactly before we left.

4th January 2019. Second day.
It was a sunny day, and we were melting hot. Because our parents asked us to go to the field with our neighbor, so we went. But we can’t find anybody anywhere, that’s weird. We wondered around for about an hour, looking for a job we could actually do. But we found nothing. So we decided to call our male friends, asking if they needed a hand. They were in the field, which is great. We hiked there, because apparently it is behind the hills.

This amazing view<3

When we arrived, they’re done and almost heading home. Oh, no. Gonna have to find another job, then! But that’s okay, at least we hiked and explore the beautiful Cibereum Village.
After that, we played at our neighbor’s house for a while. We chat and made rujak. In the afternoon, we head home, as it’s lunch time. One of the great thing about this village is that there’s internet connection, unlike many village that I’ve visited. We can communicate easily through out the process.
Not just playing and having fun, we actually learn there too. About 3 pm, we went to the village hall to learn some new stuff, as in how to plant, mechanism, types of tractor, even how to ride one. Since we were offered and allowed to ride the gigantic trucks, I volunteered myself to do it. It was fun, and we were guided actually, so it’s not that scary. But still, the tractors has large and loud engines, which is kind of intimidating haha.
Here’s a picture of me riding a tractor.

Yes, my face is terrified.

We came back to our RT a couple hours later, and was called by Mr. Yudi, our teacher who is in charge of us. He wanted us to pack the food we brought from Bandung, as a thank you sign for our home stay family. On that particular dawn, we shared the sembako to them, with some clothes as well. It felt really good to know that we shared something to somebody, and also greatful for the things that we actually own now. Not everybody is as blessed as us. That’s one of the valueable lesson that I learned.
In the evening, me and my friends made bala-bala with ibu, we were really bonding and learned how to make balabalaaa I’m so happy. At 8.30 PM, OUR FRIENDS VISITED US. It was I Gede, Juan, Adam, Janifa, Sania, Ratu. We served our HANDMADE HAHA bala-bala and some coffee.
5th January 2019. Third day.

All of us, the entire class, woke up at 6 am, to visit Situ Cisanti, the 0.0km of Citarum river. we went there with a pickup. We rented 2 of those, and it took us all.

It is clean guys…. Why does the river itself is so dirty:<  WHOSE FAULT IS THISSSS??? No, just kidding.

XI MIPA 1

After that trip to Situ Cisanti, we were back to had our last lunch with our family, and at 12 pm finally had to say good bye to our home stay family. It was a little bit sad, though. But that’s okay! Every great thing had to come to an end. I’m so greatful that we were be able to experience such an incredible journey together.

3-5/03/2019.
